The killing of George Floyd is just one example of the systemic racism that permeates our society today. As health care providers we know the correlation between racism and access to healthcare. People of color have a lower life expectancy and experience higher rates of homelessness, incarceration and unemployment due to the social constraints our society has created.
As a health center family, we were founded on the philosophy that systems of oppression and racism hurt our communities. We especially stand against police brutality and injustice and will work to end this scourge on our communities.
We at NEW Health believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
