For anyone 5 years or older, we are offering covid vaccination at our two sites. After reviewing the information below, please call the number that corresponds to the location at which you would like to receive your vaccine, and a patient service representative will help you schedule your appointment. The COVID-19 vaccine will also be available to our patients at their regularly scheduled primary care appointments.
Specialnote for pediatric patients age 5-11: Vaccination appointments for this age group are available at this time only for our own primary care pediatric patients. Additionally, we have been working with our local elementary schools to have on-site vaccination clinics. We will be expanding options for pediatric vaccination in the future as needed.
We continue to offer vaccination to anyone 12 and older who has not yet received a complete primary vaccination.
We also continue to offer a 3rd primary dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine to anyone 18 and up with a weakened immune system, and at least 28 days since the 2nd shot of either vaccine. A 3rd dose of Pfizer vaccine is available to anyone age 12 and up with a weakened immune system as well, at least 28 days after the 2nd Pfizer dose.
We are offering booster shots to ALL individuals age 18 and up who have received 2 doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, with the 2nd dose at least 6 months prior. We are also offering a booster shot to any individual who received Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least 2 months prior. Booster shots with the Pfizer vaccine are also authorized for individuals age 16-17 at least 6 months after their last primary dose.
Per CDC guidelines in people age 18 and up, for booster shots only (not 3rd doses), you may receive a different vaccine product than the one you were vaccinated with initially – we have all three vaccines currently available for booster shots. Barring any reason to the contrary, we are recommending that patients stick with the vaccine they received initially, except for those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. CDC guidelines now strongly recommend that getting a Moderna or Pfizer booster shot is a better and safer choice than getting a 2nd shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The coverage of the omicron variant is much better with one of the other vaccine choices.
Please note, to schedule a vaccine appointment, you must be registered with Massachusetts General Brigham. If not, please call 866-211-6588 to register. Please remember to bring your vaccination card to properly verify your previous vaccine doses and record your additional shots accurately.
