NEW Health is seeking a Primary Care Physician, full-time Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician, to join our thriving North End Waterfront Health Center—a mission-driven, community-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in one of Boston’s most vibrant and historic neighborhoods.
This is a unique opportunity to practice high-quality, relationship-based primary care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Our physicians are deeply valued members of an integrated team that includes nursing, medical assistants, behavioral health, care management, patient services, and community support staff. We are affiliated with Mass General Brigham (MGB), with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) as our primary referral hospital, and we also collaborate closely with Boston Medical Center (BMC) to support the diverse needs of our community.
Salary Range: $230,000 to $270,000 based on experience

Primary Care Physician Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive adult primary care (and family medicine if trained) in an FQHC setting
- Maintain continuity care for an assigned patient panel
- Deliver care aligned with evidence-based best practices, and patient-centered outcomes
- Partner closely with clinical support staff to optimize team-based workflows and patient experience
Team-Based Practice
- Collaborate daily with:
- Registered nurses and medical assistants
- Behavioral health clinicians
- Care management and community health staff
- Front-end and operations team members
- Participate in a culture of shared responsibility for care delivery and patient access
Innovation & Quality Improvement
- Engage in clinical quality improvement and population health initiatives
- Contribute to practice innovations that improve access, outcomes, and provider satisfaction
- Opportunities to participate in new models of care, leadership development, and systems redesign
Schedule & Clinical Model
- Full time (40 hours/week)
- 30 clinical hours
- 10 administrative hours
- Scheduling designed to support high-quality care and allow provider flexibility:
- Minimum 30-minute visits (with flexibility based on patient needs and session type)
- Some opportunity to create flexible schedules (e.g. work Saturdays for more time off during the week)
- Required shifts:
- One evening shift per week
Call Responsibilities
- Shared primary care call approximately 1 in 12
- Call stipend provided in addition to base salary
Qualifications
Required:
- MD/DO
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts
- Strong commitment to mission-driven, community-based care
Preferred:
- Experience in community health / FQHC / safety-net primary care
- Interest in care innovation, quality improvement, and team-based practice
- Strong communication skills and collaborative working style
