HRSA Administrator Visits NEW Health
Boston – Thomas Engels, Administrator of Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), visited North End Waterfront (NEW) Health on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The meeting with senior management and tour of the facility was a chance for Mr. Engels, who oversees all health center programs for HRSA, to better understand how health centers are fighting the COVID pandemic.
Mr. Engels toured NEW Health’s North End and Charlestown locations and was given an opportunity to see how both testing sites operated. A timeline of the health center’s response to the pandemic was detailed.
“We were extremely honored to welcome Mr. Engels for a site visit,” said CEO Jim Luisi. “It gave us a chance to highlight the great work of our staff and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of our current system.”
HRSA is the primary federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services responsible for improving access to health care for people who are geographically isolated and economically or medically vulnerable.
