Guidelines for Spotting Difference between Cold and Flu

The many similarities between the common cold and the flu can sometimes cause difficulty for people in understanding which they are suffering from. However, there are distinct differences that can help distinguish between the two.

The New England Patient and Family Advisory Council has created a chart to help better understand each ailment and the specific symptoms that follow. In general, the flu usually comes on more rapidly with symptoms that are more severe. The flu can also progress into more serious illnesses, including Bronchitis and Pneumonia.
