NEW Health takes COVID Vaccines to local Restaurants

On Tuesday, May 6 NEW Health took to the streets of Boston to continue their mission of vaccinating the North End community against COVID-19. In order to increase access to the vaccines, NEW Health brought the clinic to the community. CEO Jim Luisi, CMO John Foster, and a pair of seasoned vaccinators visited local restaurants by foot, offering a COVID vaccine to all who were interested.

“Now that eligibility restrictions have been lifted, we’re trying our best to get as many shots in arms as possible,” said Jim Luisi. “Whether you live in the North End, work in the North End, or just want to protect yourself from COVID we’re hear to help get you vaccinated.”

This comes days after NEW Health began offering walk-in COVID vaccination clinics at their North End and Charlestown locations. In the North End you can walk into St. Leonard’s Church, located at 31 Prince Street, Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm and both Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm to receive your vaccine. If you prefer to make an appointment you are still able to do so by calling 617-724-8725.

To date, NEW Health has administered over 1,800 first doses at their North End location and another 1,800 at their Charlestown location.

NEW Health is currently vaccinating those age 18+. No further restrictions are in place to receive your vaccine at this time. For more information on NEW Health’s vaccination program you can visit newhealthcenter.org.
