Over the past year, there has been a rise in acts of hate and violence perpetrated against people of Asian descent. We have witnessed this behavior in the killing of multiple people in Atlanta March 16th, in verbal comments made toward our staff, and in other examples across our communities and the country.
Here at NEW Health, we stand firmly against racism and xenophobia. As a health center, we were founded on the philosophy that systems of oppression and racism hurt our communities and we are committed to working daily to reduce systems of oppression and speaking out against individual acts of hate.
We at NEW Health believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege. We believe in creating a diverse environment, a safe and clean place to receive care, and going above and beyond for our patients and our community. We offer our services to all regardless of race, color, national origin, sexual preference, sexual identity, religion, or ability to pay. NEW Health will remain a beacon of inclusivity and acceptance. We hope for everyone’s safety during these difficult times.
On behalf of our organization and our Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, we extend our support and our commitment to actively work on stopping Anti-Asian racism and violence.
Thank you for all you do to support our mission and our NEW Health community.
